The guiding principle

two layers, two sets of rules.

The site has already earned AEO/SEO authority with Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini. Tearing down proven pages resets that confidence. We separate what we restyle freely from what we protect — and we never confuse the two.

◆ Presentation layer

The furniture.

Free to reupholster.

  • Colors, fonts, spacing
  • Photography, hero imagery
  • Buttons, animations, hover states
  • Section order, layout templates
  • Navigation styling
  • New pages, new sections, new galleries
Change freely. Ship it.
◆ Proof layer

The house.

Move only with a migration plan.

  • URLs of ranking / cited pages
  • Page titles and meta descriptions
  • H1 / H2 / H3 heading text on money pages
  • Body copy on the do-not-disturb URLs
  • JSON-LD structured data
  • Internal links between key pages
If you must change it: 301, diff, sign-off, monitor.
The plan

three phases. lowest risk first.

Phase A ships first because it carries zero risk to existing rankings. Phase B follows once the chrome is bedded in. Phase C is invoked only if a specific page is genuinely underperforming — and only one page at a time.

Phase A
Ship first
Phase B
After A bedded in
Phase C
Only if needed
Phase A

Chrome restyle
+ schema fixes

Make the site look refreshed. Add the missing proof. Touch no existing body copy.

What ships

  • New header (logo lock-up, spacing, hover)
  • New menu — 5 items, Suites parent + dropdown (The Suites, Compare Suites)
  • New footer — Stay column: The Suites · Compare Suites · Experience · Special Offers · Book Now (Rates retired)
  • Sticky mobile CTA bar (Call · WhatsApp · Book Now)
  • Typography pairing site-wide (Bodoni Moda + Quicksand)
  • Color tokens applied site-wide
  • Add homepage H1 (currently missing)
  • Upgrade Organization → LodgingBusiness on homepage
  • Add FAQPage schema to /faq/
  • Add HotelRoom + Offer schema to 13 suite pages
  • Add AboutPage schema referencing existing Hotel @id

Risk level

Near zero

No body-copy changes on the 14 do-not-disturb URLs. Rankings stay.

Phase B

Net-new pages
+ safe additions

Build on the new chrome. Add value where there's no proof to disturb.

What ships

  • New page: /compare-suites/ — uses the existing mockup, gets its own schema + breadcrumb
  • New journal posts at /journal/[slug] (Anilao destination guides drafted)
  • "Compare all 13 suites →" inline CTA on /the-suites/ (presentation only)
  • Bali-inspired intro paragraph above the suite grid on /the-suites/
  • TripAdvisor widget on homepage
  • New sections ADDED to amber pages — only where they don't displace existing H2-level content

Risk level

Low

All work is on green-tier URLs or pure additions. No subtractions.

Phase C

Wholesale
rewrites

Only invoked if a specific page is underperforming after A + B. Not a default phase.

How it works

  • Diagnose: is the page actually losing? Pull 90-day GSC + AI-citation data
  • If yes: write the new version with explicit before/after diff
  • Schedule individually — never bundled
  • Preserve URL or 301 from old to new
  • Per-page sign-off before push
  • Monitor rankings 4–6 weeks before next migration

Risk level

Managed

Only proceed with full migration controls. Most pages may never need this phase.

URL classification

not every page is equal.

Every URL on vivereazure.com falls into one of three tiers. The tier determines what we can change. A change to a red URL requires the full migration plan; a change to a green URL ships freely.

Red — Do not disturb

14

Ranking or cited pages. Preserve URL + title + H1 + body claims. Restyle layout/imagery around them freely.

Includes

  • /
  • /faq/
  • /the-suites/
  • /batangas-beach-resort/
  • /dive-resorts-batangas/
  • /resorts-batangas/
  • /beach-resort-near-manila/
  • /resorts-near-manila/
  • /anilao-vs-el-nido-…/
  • /why-vivere-azure-is-ph-best-…/
  • /how-to-get-to-anilao-…/
  • /batangas-beach-resort-with-pool-guide/
  • /best-beach-resorts-batangas-…/
  • /travel-guide-anilao-* (2026)
Rule: No URL change without 301. No H1/title/body-copy subtraction. Schema only added or upgraded, never removed.

Amber — Keep the words

~8

Restyle template + presentation freely. Preserve headings, body claims, URLs, alt text.

Includes

  • /the-house/
  • /experience/
  • /vivere-hospitality-group/
  • /gallery/
  • 2026 brand-led blog posts
  • Remaining Anilao/diving cluster posts
Rule: New chrome welcome. Add sections welcome. Subtracting existing content needs Phase C process.

Green — Free to redesign

~55

Free hand. Rebuild from scratch if that's better.

Includes

  • 13 individual suite pages
  • /reservation/, /thank-you/
  • /special-offers/, /gift-certificate/
  • /compare/
  • /blogs/ index
  • ~40 legacy 2019–2022 blog posts
  • NEW: /compare-suites/
  • NEW: /journal/[slug] posts
Rule: 301 if any URL is renamed. Before deleting a legacy post, check it isn't feeding the activity cluster.
What the mockups become

not every mockup is a page.

The HTML mockups we built April–June were originally framed as page-replacement specs. Under the v2 scope, most of them become design + visual-language reference. Only one becomes a real new URL.

Mockup Becomes Notes
Compare Suites Phase B page Ships as a real net-new page at /compare-suites/. Gets its own meta, schema, breadcrumb. Green-tier — no proof to disturb.
Experience Anilao Reference only Live /experience/ stays as-is (amber URL). Mockup demonstrates new chrome + visual language only. Origin story copy may be ADDED later as a Phase B addition or revisited in Phase C.
FAQ accordion Reference only Live /faq/ content + URL + schema preserved exactly. Mockup informs the widget choice + visual treatment when the chrome lands.
Nav restructure Phase A deliverable Site-wide nav change: Discover · Suites (dropdown) · FAQs · Journal · Contact + Book Now CTA. Presentation only — no URLs touched.
Answer Bank / Quick Answer Reference only Replaced by Speakable schema on intro paragraphs (Phase A). No visible callout component required.
Guardrails

six rules. don't break without flagging.

These are the lines that, if crossed, can erode ranking and citation authority faster than any redesign can rebuild it.

01

Never change a do-not-disturb URL without a 301 from the old URL to the new one. A cited or ranking URL must never return 404.

02

Never delete or merge a ranking or cited page. Merging two ranking pages collapses two rankings into one.

03

Never remove existing JSON-LD structured data. Preserve or upgrade — never drop.

04

Never strip proven keyword phrasing from titles, H1s, or body copy on money pages. Add and improve copy; do not subtract the phrases that earned the ranking.

05

Never orphan a page. Keep existing internal links between key pages intact so the new design doesn't cut a page off from the link graph.

06

WordPress is client-rendered. Any new H1 or schema must render in the static HTML or be reliably injected — answer engines must see it without running heavy JavaScript.
